The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan is taking measures for the consistent implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals until 2030(hereinafter - the SDGs), which include targets for the overall reduction of poverty and income inequality in all its manifestations.

The purpose of the report “Improving Approaches to Measuring Poverty and Income Inequality in Uzbekistan” is the preparation of guidelines for improving the measurement of poverty and income inequality in Uzbekistan.In the framework of the study: (a) an analysis of existing methodologies for measuring poverty and income inequality was carried out population in Uzbekistan; (b) foreign experience has been studied (countries of the CIS and the European Union); (c) methodological recommendations were prepared on improving methods for measuring poverty and income inequality of the population.
