Energy audit of the rural housing in Uzbekistan

Energy audit of the rural housing in Uzbekistan

June 18, 2020

We constructed 800 one-story 3-bedroom energy-efficient and low-carbon standard rural residential buildings in 5 pilot regions of Uzbekistan in 2019. As a part of our joint project with GEF and the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Project  “Market Transformation for Sustainable Rural Housing in Uzbekistan”, those houses were equipped with 300 Watt photovoltaic stations for lighting, and 10 of them were equipped with 200-liter solar water heaters for hot water supply.

In 2020-2021 the Project is planning to conduct  an energy audit of 60 houses, which will include typical rural houses without energy efficient facilities built in 2018 in the framework of the State Programme. During this energy audit, the specialists will inspect the supply, distribution and energy consumption systems in both types of houses, which  will help to compare the actual annual consumption of thermal and electric energy and determine the level of respective greenhouse gas emissions, as well as to collate the energy consumers’ spending.
