Handbook ‘Judicial Practice in Civil Courts’ Published

February 5, 2019

According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 13, 2018 ‘On measures to further improve the judicial system and strengthen public trust in courts’, quarterly briefings are to be conducted by regional court chairpersons, and the results of appellate and cassation appeals shall be published quarterly.

The handbook ‘Judicial Practice of Civil Courts’ has been developed within the framework of the joint ‘Rule of Law Partnership in Uzbekistan’ project of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and UNDP, on the basis of civil cases reviewed by the judicial board of the Supreme Court. It covers the judicial practices of reviewing cases regarding housing, labour, credit, debt, land and hereditary disputes, with concrete examples provided.

The new handbook is intended for judges, lawyers, jurisprudence experts, students and researchers.
