Key Partnership for ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2016Sep 16, 2016
Information and Communication Technologies Week – ICTWEEK 2016 – will take place in Uzbekistan on September 19-23, 2016. The main purpose of this annual digital even is to discuss key achievements in ICT development in Uzbekistan, to demonstrate success stories of ICT implementation in different areas, to identify new trends in information technologies development, to facilitate ICT development in Uzbekistan and to enhance international cooperation in this field.
ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2016 is organized by the Uzbekistan’s IT Association and ICTNEWS Conferences with support of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
One of the ICTWEEK’s key partners is UNDP Uzbekistan, which has been supporting this initiative since its first launch in 2003 by inviting international experts, helping in formulation of the week’s concept, as well as through facilitating discussions on important topics of governance and media coverage of the week’s events and activities.
In particular, the UNDP project "E-Government Promotion for Improved Public Service Delivery" is co-organizing the "E-Government Uzbekistan" section of the ICT Forum 2016, which will take place on September 21, 2016 as part of ICT Week. Participants of the section will analyze the role of e-governance in developing public services institute based on international experience. Overseas and local experts invited to the ICT Forum will present best practices for One-Stop-Shops and their role in improving the accessibility of public services. The speeches on the role of open data will be presented to improve e-participation and to strengthen the country's economic growth, as well as the value of e-identification and other information systems to improve the efficiency of public services delivery.
Heads of government agencies, enterprises and organizations in the area of communications and information technologies, international experts and analysts, as well as representatives of international agencies and IT companies will join the event.
It is worth to mention, that Uzbekistan has improved its 2016 UN ranking on e-government and e-participation. The participants of the ICT Forum will identify the steps for further advancing Uzbekistan’s international indicators on e-government and e-participation.
The press-conference dedicated to the opening of the ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2016 will be held on September 19, 2016 at the International Business Center.
