Achievements and new goals of the project on promoting e-government

A joint project of UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry for development of information technologies and communication (MITC) “Promoting E-government for improved public service delivery” gathers its Board members for the first meeting, aimed at reviewing the progress made in 2015 and agreeing on the future steps.

The project, implemented in partnership with MITC, has started in mid 2014 to help the country improve delivery of public services, particularly with the top-notch public service providers to people and businesses such as ministries of internal affairs, labor and social protection, public education, higher education, healthcare, customs office and tax office and others. Issues of efficient application of IC technologies, business processes reengineering, introduction of e-services and stimulation of citizen’s e-participation were discussed during the meeting.

“The project is particularly important for Uzbekistan where administrative reform should lead the process improvement of provision of public services for people and businesss”, - noted Mr. Farid Garakhanov, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative.

The members of the Project Board, representatives of the ministries of labor and social protection and others along with the Center for development of system of “Electronic government” and the Uzinfocom Center had an opportunity to learn about the project achievements detailed in the report presented by Mr. Bunyod Avliyokulov, Project Manager.

In conclusion of the meeting Mr. Alisher Fayzullaev, first deputy minister of MITC, suggested to focus on more efficient knowledge transfer to public sector managers as well as conduct joint meetings on a monthly basis. Members have agreed on and approved the project’s activities results and inputs planned for the 2016.
