22 years ago, on the 1st of September, 1991, Uzbekistan became an independent nation and opened a new chapter in its history. In this relatively short period of time, through a process of gradual reforms, the country has achieved important milestones in moving forward its socio-economic development agenda.

A meeting has been conducted between Mr. Stefan Priesner, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, and Mr. Farrukh Mukhamedov, Director of the Institute for Monitoring of Current Legislation under the President of Uzbekistan, in order to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between UNDP and its government partners.
