The Budget Code is a law which defines the basis of the budgetary system, its structure, principles, legal relations, the foundations of the budgetary process and inter-budgetary relations. It consolidates the country's basic laws in this area, including the Law "On budget system" and "On treasury execution of the State Budget"; it organizes and coordinates the rules and regulations stipulated in various regulations, provides clear concepts and definitions used in the budget legislation, creates the basis for introducing new methods and tools in the budget process, as well as for adapting international standards and norms.

  • Promoting openness and accessibility of courts Aug 18, 2015August 18, 2015 - a press-tour of the courts introducing "E-SUD" electronic case management system was conducted in the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as at Zangiata and Mirzo-Ulugbek interdistrict civil courts. The “E-SUD” electronic case management system allows the citizens to file cases to courts electronically, while enabling receipt of case related information, including court’s determinations and decisions quickly and in the accessible form. The press-tour was organized within the framework of the joint project of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) "Rule of Law Partnership in Uzbekistan".

  • Hope for lifeAug 14, 2015It is hard to imagine the Uzbekistan’s fauna without its characteristic species – the saiga antelope. In winter time, these antelopes can be found inhabiting in the southern parts of Ustyurt, while in spring they migrate to the north, to Kazakhstan, where the earth is covered by abundant plants by this time. The saiga antelopes return back to south, to the Ustyurt Plateau, as autumn cold approaches. Nowadays, this plateau is one of the few places on earth where you can find the saiga in the natural environment.

  • Partnership for reforming public financesAug 12, 2015Over the past 10 years, the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in close cooperation with the donor community, has been reforming public finance management system with the ultimate goal to ensure the successful implementation of socio-economic policy of the Government. The main goals, objectives and sequence of the reforms in the area of public finance have been identified in the Public Finance Management (PFM) Reform Strategy until 2018, developed by the Ministry of Finance jointly with the IMF’s Fiscal Policy Department.
