The draft resolution “On additional measures to further improve ranking of Uzbekistan in World bank’s annual “Doing Business” report” is available for public consultations. “Business forum of Uzbekistan (phase III)” – joint project of Chamber of Commerce and UNDP contributed to elaboration of this resolution and provided recommendations on improving business environment, discussed during a round-table meeting in May 2017.
Farmers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan are invited to the land laser levelling workshop

A five-day workshop titled “Piloting resource conservation agrotechnologies with demonstration of land laser leveling technology in the Republic of Karakalpakstan” will be held in the Chimbay district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Around 50 farmers and representatives of dekhkan communities from the Chimbay, Kegeyli and Muynak districts are invited to participate in the workshop. Similar training workshops were connducted in the Kanlikul and Takhtakupir project pilot districts in April 2017 with the participation of 120 farmers and dekhkans, of which five were female farmers.

UNDP selects best startup projects for the ‘Startup Initiatives’ programme

In mid-July, about 85 teams from all over Uzbekistan, having successfully passed preliminary selection, pitched their startup projects to experts. Based on the results of expert evaluations, about 30 best projects will get an opportunity to participate in the three-month Youth Startup Support Programme. The programme is implemented by UNDP and CCI ‘Business Forum of Uzbekistan (Phase III)’ joint project with the support of the Agency for Science and Technology and ‘Sasol’ company.

As of May 1, 2017, about 90 thousand statements and statements of claim have been received by inter-district civil courts of Tashkent city and Tashkent region via the E-SUD national electronic case management system (http://v3.esud.uz/), which is 7.5 times over the same period last year.
