UNDP and the Inter-Parliamentary Union are proud to present this first ever Global Parliamentary Report. The report focuses on the relationship between parliaments and citizens, and is the result of extensive research, drawing on both interviews with parliamentarians and inputs provided by parliaments.

The report’s findings highlight the diversity of parliamentary systems around the world, reflecting each countries’ different historical and political contexts. UNDP is grateful to all the parliamentarians, parliamentary staff, experts, and other individuals who supported the research process. The report has been translated into Russian, with the active assistance of the UNDP Uzbekistan ‘Parliamentary Development Assistance’ project, and will be distributed to the members of parliament of Uzbekistan.
