The main goal of this edition – to introduce government authorities, the public, NGOs and Mass media with ideas and main parts of the UN Convention "On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities", as well as the Optional Protocol to the Convention.

At the same time, the publication will promote the rights and interests of persons with disabilities, ratifying of the Convention, as well as a further permanent reporting and monitoring in the framework of the implementation of the Convention.

No doubt, the publication, being intended for the general public, will serve to familiarizing with international standards of guarantying the rights, freedoms and legal interests of persons with disabilities, as well as to the development and implementation of additional measures to bring the national legislation into conformity with the international law.

The first edition of the  UN Convention "On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities" and the Optional Protocol to the Convention in Uzbek language in Uzbekistan implemented in partnership by the National Centre for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the joint project of the United Nations Development Programme in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Uzbekistan "Inclusive Employment and Social Partnership".
