Increasing the socio-political activity of women, strengthening their role in government and society, ensuring the employment of women, graduates of vocational colleges, their widespread involvement in entrepreneurship, and further strengthening the foundations of the family is set forth as a priority task in the Actions Strategy for 2017-2021.
The protection of the rights and freedoms of entrepreneurs and the judicial support of their interests, having been a major direction of on-going legal reform in Uzbekistan, was the focus of the international roundtable held this week in Samarkand. This event saw the development of recommendations and proposals for legislative improvements in the field.
The UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan today welcomed the swift action taken by the Government of Uzbekistan to investigate and address the allegations which emerged last week of inappropriate official sanctions carried out on six persons in Akkurgan (Tashkent region).
The signed MoU marks an important milestone for partnership and sets out key areas of cooperation between two organizations from establishing the SDG Innovations and Governance Laboratory to supporting core activities of the Ministry on introducing innovations in public administration, economics, agriculture, social sector and environment.
The main objectives of the Strategy of Innovative Development and ways of developing an innovative economy in Uzbekistan were discussed at the scientific-practical conference “Innovative development of the economy of Uzbekistan: foreign experience, trends and prospects” in Tashkent.
The joint UNDP/WTO training course on goods schedules took place in Tashkent for the Government officials of Uzbekistan. More than 20 participants from the government ministries and agencies benefited from the training by enhancing their knowledge on the bilateral market access negotiations on goods and technical aspects of goods schedules.
On 20 October 2018 the Government of Uzbekistan adopted the resolution “On measures to Implement the National Goals and Targets in the Field of Sustainable Development for the Period Until 2030.”
